  1. Hi everyone, I will be demonstrating how to create a podcast with Audacity during my session. Follow this link to a blog that explains the process. See you at the conference! Mark

  2. I have a question about web cams. How do you attach a web cam to your laptop if you do not already have one? Can you buy a web cam to attach to your computer and are they expensive? I previously had a computer with a built in web cam but my new Asus laptop appears to not come equipped with one. I liked the My Movie Maker program that you showed us and now I am wondering how I can begin to use it.

  3. I really enjoyed this workshop. I teach Middle School World Language and have been looking for simple ways to incorporate different aspects of technology into my classes. I can see several uses for both Audacity and Windows Media player to have students create presentations and complete homework as well as use the podcasts for study aids and tools that can be posted on my school webpage. This really user friendly both for me, the kiddos who need a lot of support and offers a new outlet for those who are near Tech geniuses. Thank you!

  4. Will definitely work with Audacity this afternoon. We will be required to use this once a quarter during 2013-2014 at mt school.

  5. I found the Movie Maker resource a very useful one for my Spanish class. I liked the possibility of using Power Point to add text to these presentations. However, I would like to know if there is any way I can add titles to each slide. I mean, having the translations in English on the bottom of the page as I am speaking in Spanish or vice versa.

  6. I have always heard of podcasting, but was afraid to try it. I didn't know what to use or how to use it. Thank you for showing how to use Audacity! I think this would be fun to use in the classroom. The fact that the speaker can edit what they say/hear in the recording will work wonderfully for those students who are unsure of what to say and stumble through their speech. I have an idea running through my head (it's only bits and pieces now) for my ancient civilization's class to have a daily "broadcast" that incorporates daily living from those times. Not sure how to start this or organize it, but that's were the fun of brainstorming and planning comes in!

  7. I definitely will use Audacity nest year. Our computers don't have microphones but I will use this as a homework assignment. I will play with this on my home computer so I can become familiar with it over the summer.

  8. Thank you for introducing us to Audacity. One of our new outcomes this year is to record our students reading. This was a challenge for us because we did not know of any way to record them except with the old fashioned tap recorder. This would be a great way for our students to record themselves and then be able to listen to it. They could hear what they actually sound like and focus on speeding up, slowing down, or anything that they need to work on.

It would be really neat to write a class story, then have each child read part of it and record that. We could even make it available to the parents to listen to it. Thank you again, I can't wait to start playing with it.

  9. I am very excited to try my hands on using a podcast in the classroom. I think the kids will love doing it and have a lot of at the same time. I hadn't realized that it could be so easy to accomplish.

  10. I think being able to use Audacity could help me with our Socratic seminars in class. I think I could use this to help me grade based on their participation and content. Also, it would help students who were absent. i could put up the file for kids to download. Also, I could use it to help students relearn a skill they missed by leaving a recording for them to download.
